The Temple

“Today most of us do not have to suffer great hardships in order to attend the temple. Eighty-five percent of the membership of the Church now live within 200 miles (320 km) of a temple, and for a great many of us, that distance is much shorter.
“If you have been to the temple for yourselves and if you live within relatively close proximity to a temple, your sacrifice could be setting aside the time in your busy lives to visit the temple regularly.“
President Thomas S. Monson
Latter-day Saint temples are beautiful buildings.  They are built to show our devotion and worship of God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ.
When I go to the temple I pray for my friends and family members.  I believe my prayers will be heard and answered by the Lord
Because I suffered infertility for thirteen years, I decided to devote one morning every week to attending the temple.  Arriving early in the morning for a year or more, I prayed that I would be able to have more children. Despite the discouragement of having many miscarriages, I persevered.
Not long after my commitment to temple attendance began, some miracles started to happen.  I came in contact with people who were carrying out adoptions.  Through a miraculous series of events I was able to adopt a daughter from Russia and a son from Mexico.  I was also able to bear another child through medical help.
I believe my prayers were answered because of my worship of Heavenly Father in the temple.
When we're in the temple we perform ordinances for people who have died.  We perform baptisms and confirmations.  I am currently doing this for some of my ancestors that died before they could receive baptism.
The Savior wants all of us to return to Him.  He wants us all to return as families.  The temple helps us do that.
